Bowl Feeder to feed and orientate Lids and Bodies

Solution

The 2 bowl feeder systems are designed to automatically sort and feed lids and bodies to a 4-station indexer for assembly. The feeding systems comprise 2 bowl feeders & linear feeders. The feeding systems comprise bulk hoppers, bowl feeders, linear tracks and side shuttle escapements.

Bulk Feeders

Bodies and lids are manually loaded into elevating bulk feeders, which store and transfer them on demand to their respective vibratory bowl feeders.
● The body bulk feeder provides approximately 200 litres storage capacity.
● The lid bulk feeder provides approximately 65 litres storage capacity.

Vibratory Bowl Feeders

Vibratory sorting bowls are tooled to feed and orient component parts before transferring them to the twin lane linear out-feed; Internally lined with a FDA approved polyurethane coating.

Linear Feeders

Vibratory linear feeders are fitted with a twin lane tooled track approximately 600 mm in length, fitted with high and low level track sensors on each lane.

Side Shuttle Escapement

At the end of the lid feed system, an escapement to separate and present two components at a time, one per lane, for collection by the machine pick and place handling unit.
