RNA Automation Ltd held an event to raise money for the Trussell Trust in memory of David Newman. David, a long-standing team member, sadly passed away after a short illness at the beginning of October last year.
David was an intelligent, geeky, gentle giant who loved a curry and a Guinness or three. A proud parent of two young children and husband to Julia, he was always ready and willing to help his friends. In his memory, a fundraising event was held to help raise some money for The Trussell Trust, a charity that both Dave and his wife Julia have supported over the years.
The Charity Fun Day event was held in City of Bath on a sunny Saturday on 1st June, where RNA together with David’s family and friends came together for a day of fun filled activities. The early part of the day comprised of a treasure hunt with a twist and included trivia, tasks and quizzes for the participants. The route taking in many of the important landmarks in Bath.
In the afternoon, everyone gathered at Widcombe Social Club for lunch, entertainment and games. It was very heart-warming to see that people had travelled from different parts of the UK, as well as from abroad to support the event.
We would like to thank Carole Mosedale for donating the game prizes and hampers, Ying Zhang and Jim Jones for the raffle prizes. Also the Wates Family Enterprise Trust, who very generously provided match funding to David Mosedale’s fundraising total.
The food was provided by Salmon Catering, who at very short notice agreed to travel to Bath from Birmingham to cater for our event. The food and the level of service they provided was 5 star.
But a special mention should goes to Sarah Mosedale, who organised the whole event with inventiveness and near military precision.
We are delighted to announce that we have raised a total amount of £3,000 for The Trussell Trust and on behalf of his family – Julia, Leo and Matilda, we would like to thank everyone who has supported the Charity Fun Day and who made it such a memorable and successful event.
