Solution
The 2 bowl feeder systems are designed to automatically sort and feed Lion 5B inlets and outlets down to an 8-station indexer for media insertion and assembly. The feeding systems comprise 2 bowl feeders & linear feeders.
Vibratory Feeding System – Outlet
A vibratory bowl feeder sorts and feeds the outlet components, both 13mm and 30mm. The outlets are fed in single file onto a vibratory linear for transporting into the rotary indexer. Interchangeable tooling on the bowl and linear track is utilised to feed both sizes of outlets. A rotary pick and place (P&P) mechanism picks the outlets out of the linear escapement, one at a time, and deposit them into the fixture on the rotary index table.
Vibratory Feeding System – Inlet
A vibratory bowl feeder sorts and feeds the inlet components, both 13mm and 30mm. The inlets are fed in single file onto a vibratory linear for transporting into the rotary indexer. Interchangeable tooling on the linear track is utilised to feed both sizes of inlets.
The P&P mechanism is designed to handle two inlets simultaneously. The P&P picks two inlets, one out of the linear escapement and one from the punch. The P&P then places two inlets, one into the punch and one onto the rotary index table.
