Solution

The vibratory bowl feed system is designed to automatically sort and feed handles. The bowl feeder is tooled to feed and orientate the component — discharging it axis vertical, hanging from the flange, flat in line of motion — before transferring it to the customer’s own gravity out-feed, at a rate of 100 components per minute.

Bowl Feeder

A vibratory bowl feeder is tooled to sort and feed the component parts before transferring them to the linear out-feeds. The equipment specified is a TAG-2A 250 (541)-32-165 aluminium stepped, central-fixing bowl with a 7-litre capacity. The bowl is internally lined with an FDA250 FDA-approved polyurethane coating suited to the component.

Drive Unit

An SRC-N 250-2 bowl feeder drive unit provides the vibratory motion, one of the standard EcoType™ SRC-N drive units (200/250/400) matched to the corresponding bowl size.

Control Box

An ESK 2000 controller — a single-channel digital interface variable speed controller with built-in sensor inputs — regulates feed rate.
