RNA’s Snowdon Challenge for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity
Written by: RNA Automation
The RNA team recently braved the Snowdon Challenge in support of our chosen charity for the year, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. On Saturday 7th July, the team successfully completed the ascent of the highest peak in Wales and England (1085m) to help raise funds for the charity.
Some of the team arrived on Friday evening, but others had an early start to complete the 3 hour drive to the Snowdon in time to reach the meeting point at Pen y Pass for a 9:00am start. The weather was fine, a clear day, around 24 degrees with little wind. We chose the Snowdon Miners Path for the ascent which was very challenging with some very rocky sections and intermittent steep inclines. The views were fantastic from the final stretch approaching the summit. We then took around an hour break at the summit and made our descent via the Llanberis Path. Arriving exhausted, but exhilarated!
Stuart Brettell, MD of RNA UK said: “All in all, it was a great day and was carried out with immense enthusiasm by everyone who took part. It was really good to see how people involved their families in a really worthwhile event and with a real team spirit. There was a huge sense of achievement not only for reaching the summit, but also contributing to such a worthy cause”.
RNA would like to thank everyone who supported us through this challenge. To support the fundraising efforts towards Birmingham Children’s Hospital, please visit our Just Giving Page.
