RNA plans to expand its engineering capability to meet the demands of major project activity. With its number of new projects especially in the vision inspection machine sector the added engineering capacity is needed to meet customers’ needs for effective, timely project execution.
“RNA have seen unprecedented growth, especially for large automation projects with international companies on a global supply basis over the last three years,” commented Sales Manager Andy Perks. “It’s very gratifying that customers are overwhelmingly choosing us, and it’s also the catalyst to grow our business and stay firmly ahead of the competition.”
This expansion follows significant growth in the systems business, RNA have supplied over a dozen high speed inspection systems to one customer alone during 2012. In 2012 staffing levels for automation projects were increased and a dedicated Technical Sales Engineer was recruited to focus on the special purpose machinery business. The company is now adding engineering staff within the design & electrical department to support the ongoing trend in complete systems solutions. RNA have continued to grow in all disciplines including robotic vision systems, automated assembly systems and vision inspection machines. Based on the specific project needs, various disciplines come into play to achieve the end user’s automation goals RNA have evolved from a bowl feeder supplier to become a one stop shop.
“We’re not just adding staff, we are also putting in plans to become more efficient and effective. We’ve invested for years in standard practices and tools for project engineering and are taking advantage of global communications technology to be able to communicate with our customers wherever they are located in the world. Our commitment is to meet our customers’ demands for competitive, predictable, high-quality automation at the forefront of technology. We help customers get into production and making money as quickly as possible.”
Major project activity in both developed and emerging markets requires focusing considerable resources and back up for a sustained period. RNA’s presence – including multiple sales & service engineering centres – enables us to collaborate globally with our key customers. At the same time, standardized project execution through its engineering department enables consistent results anywhere in the world.
Evidence of the excellence of our end product is found in highly positive customer survey results. Customer survey results in the past year indicate both high satisfaction with project management as well as an overall high score for technical excellence. Companies who started working with RNA on a single project have evolved to where RNA have become a preferred or specified supplier on a global scale these include companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Becton Dickinson, Gillette, AstraZeneca and many more.
